on to us in mystery.  In respect to piety both are of the same force.  No one will
contradict any of these, no one, at any rate, who is even moderately versed in

…We all look toward the East when we pray; but few know why that it is because
we are looking for our own former country, Paradise, which God planted in the
East. On the first day of the week, we stand when we pray; but not all of us know

“It does not follow that there are two kings because we speak of a king and a
king’s image.  The authority is not split nor is the glory divided.  The sovereignty

thereto is not plural but one; for the honor paid to the image passes to the
prototype.”
On Baptism (Ante 379 AD):
13, 5
“For prisoners, Baptism is ransom, forgiveness of debts, death of sin, regeneration
of the soul, a resplendent garment, an unbreakable seal, a chariot to heaven, a
protector royal, a gift of adoption.”
On the Holy Generation of Christ  (Ante 379 AD):
5
“But since the lovers of Christ (that is, the faithful) do not allow themselves to hear
that the Mother of God ceased at a given moment to be a virgin, we consider their
testimony to be sufficient.”
