Sexual Ethics
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit
within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own?
For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body
(1 Cor. 6:15-20).
The sexual revolution of the 1960s brought about a profound and
devastating collapse in the morals of Western man. Today, the corruption
has reached such an extent that we witness nothing less than a worldwide
exaltation of illicit sex invading virtually every field of human life. In
films, advertising, news-reporting and literature, license to practice any and
every form of sexual perversion is preached without end, while those who
wish to echo the Churchs doctrine on sexuality are conveniently derided,
silenced and dismissed as out of date.
Pre-Marital Sex
Our Lord Jesus Christ restored marriage to the original integrity it
possessed before the Fall:
He answered, Have you not read that he who made them from the
beginning made them male and female, and said, For this reason a man
shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two
shall become one flesh? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What
therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder (St. Matt.
19:4-6).
It is Church doctrine that no couple may engage in sexual relations before
entering marriage under any circumstances.¹ This is so because Christ
willed that physical love between a man and a woman should exist only
within the framework of a stable and permanent relationship free from
whims and caprices. Only such a relationship can ensure the proper birth
