As a final point, it is noteworthy that supporting arguments for the
Copernican System were actually developed by Jesuit scientists
such as Frs. Grimaldi and Kochansky, free from any form of
harassment or discouragement from the Church. The significance
of such is more evident when we recall that Jesuits make a special
vow of obedience to the Pope and were then his most conspicuous
